Communications Team
The Communications Team of the Athens Immigrant Rights Coalition (AIRC) keeps our members and the broader community informed and engaged. We work to ensure that everyone connected to AIRC knows about the latest events, initiatives, and issues affecting immigrant communities in Athens. Through thoughtful and consistent communication, we help strengthen our collective voice and build a more connected and informed network of advocates and allies. AIRC is always looking for passionate volunteers who care about immigrant rights and want to help amplify our message. If this committee seems like a good fit for your contribution to AIRC, we welcome your energy and ideas! Below are some of the channels we use for community and member communications.
Get Involved
- Help with blog post writing for the website so the community can stay up to date on recent activity.
- Create graphics for social media content, fundraising flyers, and event flyers.
- Provide hi res photography from local AIRC events for web content.
- Help manage the social media accounts by posting about policy changes, community stories, etc.
What We Do
This committee is working on several fronts: External Communication (responding to media requests, updating the AIRC website and social media accounts), Internal Comms (helping the different AIRC committees communicate) and raising awareness in the community (working with businesses and churches so they know their rights and can put up signs to welcome immigrants, and getting info about rights and support out to communities).
