SIFIC (Support for Immigrant Families in Crisis) needs your help! We are a 100% volunteer-run organization with virtually no overhead. This means nearly every cent of your donation goes to supporting families in crisis.
Detention and deportation are realities that have torn families apart and that threaten a large segment of the immigrant community in Athens. The increases in ICE detentions and deportations, as well as other crises such as medical emergencies, eviction, and legal fees, throw immigrant and mixed status households into financial and legal crises. We assist with legal fees, rent, and utilities to these Athens-area immigrant families who have limited or no access to other resources due to their immigration status. To do that, we rely on the larger Athens community to donate generously, to volunteer their time, and to help keep the people informed. Please consider a monthly or one-time donation to support our immigrant neighbors!
SIFIC’s fiscal agent is U-Lead Athens, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the State of Georgia. Your donation is reported as income to U-Lead and qualifies as tax deductible. Please share your address if you would like a letter for tax purposes.
